The UWI Afrikan Society invites you to experience two nights of music, poetry, drama and dance, as they present their 7th annual production “Sanaa”!
The word Sanaa means “a piece of art”, which is exactly what audience members can expect to see on show night. This production is a celebration, a period of mourning and an event for learning all in one as the audience is invited to experience the compelling story of a young woman on a journey. Known for infusing different art forms in their productions, Sanaa is no different as African Society intends to tell the young woman’s story through the means of theatre, spoken word, West African, Caribbean Folk and Afro Caribbean drumming, dance and song. Be sure to lend your support!

About UWI Afrikan Society:
As students at the University of the West Indies their aim is to promote and foster empowerment among students and people in the wider community. While working together as a family they use various mediums to deliver their messages and concerns, such as drama, spoken word, African drumming, West African and Folk dance among others. They work towards becoming a greater force on the St. Augustine campus and facilitating ways for students at the University to become more involved in charitable endeavours in communities throughout the nation.
