DIMENSIONS OF A WOMAN

Truth you can live a lifetime and never meet yourself. In Dimensions Of A Woman, Stacy-Ann Duhaney finds truth in poetry; a catalytic journey towards self-discovery winding through regret, pain and love. She weaves a salty link to similar emotional plights of other women in first-person and echoed narratives. Duhaney crafts a piquant story that explores woman through the eyes of how she’s portrayed navigating fear then celebrating love sheltered under the strength of trust—“love can make you forget and remember but it always, always makes you hope.” In Dimensions Of A Woman you are guaranteed to empathize and dream with the author and characters who reach for you in waves of light heartedness, unearthing, passionate connections and loss. Duhaney’s poems are exquisitely crafted and leave you questioning but answering to self as she lyrically lays bare her inherited struggles with submission and a treasured but embattled relationship with her creator and spirituality. A concoction of poetic realism, Dimensions Of A Woman is the first book in a three part series.

WITHIN HER WORDS | ABOUT STACY-ANN DUHANEY

If you ask Stacy- Ann Duhaney who she is, without hesitation and the broadest smile in the world, she would answer “I am a Christian, Poet, Artist, Humanitarian, Entrepreneur, Wife and best of all I’m a Mom. I’m so many things but mostly, I’m just grateful”  Stacy-Ann Duhaney was born in Jamaica, and currently resides and travels between Trinidad & Tobago and the USA as a writer and business consultant.

Stacy developed a liking for writing around age six.  On entering high school she fell madly in love with reading and words that’s when she started writing poetry and short stories. When asked what most inspired her to write she says “I needed a way to dream, dreaming kept my thoughts healthy, it was an escape from poverty and in my words is where I kept my dreams alive” Growing up in an inner city community in Jamaica, she knew death intimately at an early age and was no stranger to violence and the demise of young people who fell prey to what her community had to offer.  She decided that the life she grew to know would not be her reality and so she wrote to escape it.  Though she was always complimented and encouraged to write, the need for financial security stepped in so she chose a mainstream and lucrative career which relegated writing poetry to a hobby and momentary release for many years.
