Solman

Solman is Richard Solis, a highly passionate singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. After studying at the Berklee College of Music for two years, Solman embarked on a personal journey of spiritual seeking and deep Nature connection. As a result of the desire to share and express the peace he found on that journey, he started writing songs. Since that time, he has begun working with a band of talented musicians with like-minds, and together they have performed throughout Trinidad and Tobago at concert venues, local festivals, yoga classes, and even a catholic church.
Solman was recently awarded first place in the National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology’s 2013 music video Competition for his song “Lesson of the Forest” which expresses a need for finding balance and harmony with the Earth.

With a mix of roots-reggae influenced rhythms, jazz influenced harmony, passionate melodies and powerfully poetic lyrics that express messages of consciousness and spiritual upliftment, Solman and his band have been described by a local music critic as “one of the most fascinating [bands] I’ve ever seen locally.
