“Once there was a time … our ancestors came and created a new life, in a new world. They left behind a legacy of hopes, dreams, aspirations and ideals. This collection of paintings is a dedication … an ode … to our ancestors. Our paintings attempt to portray their lives, their ideals, their teachings and the natural environment in which they lived. These (the paintings) are a reflection of their lives AS IT WAS!”
Brothers, Prabhu and Parma Singh, have been painting since the age of six. These self-taught artists have since continued to paint, constantly evolving with their work throughout the years. This exhibition pays homage to another time, a time in our past – gone perhaps, but indelibly inscribed in our minds and very beings.
Exhibition in progress, will run until 20th September at the Horizons Art Gallery, Mucurapo Road,
PORT OF SPAIN.
