Earning the accolade “The People’s Calypsonian”, Philip’s insightful and educating lyrics have become the hallmark of his dedicated fifty (50) plus years’ service to Trinidad & Tobago as a musician. 

Valentino is to be honoured at the first Legacy Series Concert to be held at the Daaga Auditorium at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus on July 6th, the evening preceding his 73rd birthday. Black Stalin, Brian London, King Luta, Shortpants, Ras Kommanda, Explainer, Relator, Eunice Peters, Marvelous Marva, Lady Adana, Heather Macintosh, 2014 Junior Monarch Ronaldo London and Jazz singer Vaughnette Bigford, spearhead a list of 25 artistes who will perform his series of hits at this event.

The tribute concert will also feature Drama, Dance, Chorale and Multi Media presentations.
