De Roaring 70’s’ covers the heady days of the Black Power revolution and its impact on the protagonists Ma Jacob and her two children Gerard and Beverly. It runs from the NJAC inspired street demonstrations to the emergence of the NUFF led guerrilla movement spearheaded by Guy Harewood and Brian Jeffers. The play showcases the period as the society attempted to come to terms with the new awareness of Black dignity and the struggle for Black economic rights.
