Classical Music Development Foundation of Trinidad & Tobago celebrates its 10th Anniversary with the first ever CMDFTT Opera Festival at the Queens Hall, a grand celebration from June 19-28 featuring a fully costumed and staged production of Mozart’s ‘Cosi fan tutte‘; a recital featuring Trinidad’s celebrated heldentenor Ronald Samm; our Third Annual Music Competition with a grand prize of TT$30,000, as well as Masterclasses with visiting music professionals and a free Opera Outreach performance for school children.

The Classical Music Development Foundation of Trinidad & Tobago is a Non-Profit organization, incorporated under the Companies Act, 1995 of Trinidad & Tobago on 26th October, 2005.
Founded by June Nathaniel, a graduate of the Royal College of Music in Piano & Singing, and Principal of Key Academy of Music, with Annette Dopwell and Christiane McGahan in 2005, the Classical Music Development Foundation of T&T has gained a reputation for staging concerts of only the highest standard.
Our organization was born out of a recognition that the classical arts were being sorely neglected in our country.
Students who wished to study classical music often did not know how to find a teacher. Intermediate students had no access to advanced training, and advanced students could not find any information on attaining a tertiary level education.
In addition to these difficulties we noted that Trinidad’s excellent musicians, who are gaining international recognition for their superb talents and accomplishments were continually neglected by the local media, and forgotten by the Trinidadian audiences, as evidenced by poor turnouts at concerts when they did return to perform.
Determined to change this sad state of affairs, our tiny organization was born. Read more here
