I Am ONE TnT presents three days of PRIDE at the Big Black Box. This is a time to build community, share experiences and celebrate together.

“Taboo Conversations” — FREE

This event, in collaboration with TEDxPortofSpain, is the first in their series of conversations that usually happen “off the record” ON RECORD. I Am One Board Member Zeleca Ztime Julien will be one of the conversationalists.

Art Exhibit and talkback — FREE

Featuring the work of artists Abigail Hadeed, Shalini Seereeram, Josh Lu and Arnaldo JJ, among others. Come hear the artists talk about their work, which will also be on sale with a percentage of the profits going to continue I Am One’s work to document and improve the lives of members of the gender and sexual minorities communities in Trinidad and Tobago.

From 12noon: Art Exhibition continues

8PM: Calypso Cabaret STAGED READING – $40

I Am One’s collective of writers have written a Calypso Cabaret, exploring the lives of a range of LGBTQI persons across the country. This staged reading will give audiences a chance to see the first version of this daring work, and give feedback to the writers.

9:30PM – UNTIL: DANCE PARTY – $80

Vibes and celebration. Funds raised will contribute to I Am One’s efforts to produce a PRIDE ARTS FESTIVAL in 2016.

I Am One is a Community-Based organisation in Trinidad and Tobago which seeks to address the needs of Gender and Sexual Minorities by building community and providing safe spaces, education and expressive platforms for empowerment.
