Animae Caribe – Nights at the Museum

Animae Caribe presents 15 Years of Animae Caribe Animation and Digital Media Festival in collaboration with the National Museum of Trinidad and Tobago.

The public is invited to screenings of animations from around the region which were submitted to the festival over the years. Experience a special screening of award winning artist Wendell McShine with his new animated masterpieces “TEMPORAL” which is featured and published by Columbia University and “IN THE KINGDOM OF DREAMS” shown in a group exhibition at the museum of fine arts Venezuela. Experience student animations from the University of Trinidad and Tobago and new media art form of moving image through Virtual Reality and interactive art.

Finally experience a special virtual reality experience of the speech of the late Dr Eric Williams. Celebrating the Art of Animation in the Caribbean.

The Animae Caribe Festival attracts top animators from studios such as Dreamworks, Aardman, Pixar, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon to Trinidad and Tobago to present and host workshops for potential, novice and professional animators.

The festival is based on information sharing so that participants can gain vital information on trends and career possibilities in this dynamic industry. Since 2001, Animae Caribe has been a platform to raise the awareness of animation and technology in the Caribbean. It continues to provide an outlet for innovative animators in the Caribbean to develop, expand and showcase their talents to a wider local and international audience.

With a base in Trinidad and Tobago, the festival has had the opportunity to showcase the showcase similar festivals in Barbados, Jamaica, Suriname and recently showcased an Expo in Washington courtesy the International Development Bank (IDB).
